Gonzáles Punishes NYP Pitchers This Week
Monday, August 8th, 2033
With some great hand-eye coordination and a sweet, compact swing, Staten Island Yankees right fielder José Gonzáles took the New York-Penn League by storm this past week to take the latest Player of the Week honors.

"The ball was looking like a beach ball all week," a happy Gonzáles said to BNN reporters. "When it's that big, it doesn't matter where they throw it -- I can hit it anywhere."

The 20-year-old right fielder hit .467 (14-for-30) last week with 3 home runs, 7 RBIs and 9 runs scored.

This season Gonzáles has delivered 64 hits in 183 at-bats for a .350 average with 7 home runs. He is getting on base at a .399 clip and his totals also include 38 RBIs and 28 runs scored. This year Gonzáles has played in 41 games.
