Spinners Show No Mercy in 13-0 Thrashing of Lake Monsters Thursday, August 18th, 2033 Rubén Pineda of the Lowell Spinners was on fire against the Vermont Lake Monsters at Centennial Field today. He shut them out 13-0 on 2 hits, collecting 16 strikeouts and allowing 1 walk. "The first two pitches I'm looking for an out, a ground ball or a fly ball," Pineda said later. "I'm trying to get quick outs. I've never been a big believer in trying to strike a guy out from the very first pitch. It's too easy to end up behind in the count doing that."
