Hudson Valley Southpaw Tosses 9-0 Shutout
Thursday, September 1st, 2033
The Staten Island Yankees manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Hudson Valley Renegades. The Yankees were overpowered by Hudson Valley starter José Flores, who hurled his club to victory, 9-0.

"It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," said.

Over 9 innings, Flores blanked Staten Island on 3 hits with 1 walk and 10 strikeouts.

"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Flores said.

"I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."

In 13 starts this season Flores has recorded a 7-2 record and a 2.48 ERA.
