Stone Cracks 3 HRs for Hillsboro Tuesday, May 6th , 2042 Players don't hit three home runs in a game very often and when they do, it is something to celebrate. After today, Dan Stone can celebrate. The Hillsboro Hops left fielder powered three into the stands at Avista Stadium today against the Spokane Indians. "It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," Stone told reporters after the game. "Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today, I was really trying on that last one." In all, he was 3-for-6 as the Hops toppled Spokane by a score of 12-1, knocking in 5 runs and scoring 3 times. "He is blessed with a natural home run swing," Hillsboro manager said. "He gets the ball up in the air." Dan Stone flied out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off José Aguilera in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th, hit a three-run home run off Israel Baraja in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off António Sánchez in the 9th. So far this year Stone has 8 home runs and a .271 batting average. |
