Hit Streak Over, Braves Stop Cook
Friday, August 12th, 2033
The streak has been snapped.

Bob Cook failed to get a hit in today's game against the Danville Braves, bringing his 20-game hitting spree to an end. The 27-year-old Burlington left fielder was 0-for-3, but the Royals got the win and defeated the Braves 7-6.

"I'm not disappointed at all -- I had a great run," Cook said. "I got to 20 games. I got my name into an elite group with a bunch of good ballplayers. What's there to complain about?"

Looking at his present stats, Cook has compiled a .377 batting average in 48 games with a .519 on-base percentage, while hitting 9 home runs and driving in 45 runs.
