Leon Ruíz Hurls No-No Against FCL Milwaukee
Friday, May 30th , 2042
The FCL Kansas City Royals relied on no-hit stuff from starter Leon Ruíz to defeat the FCL Milwaukee Brewers 11-0 at Maulers Ballpark today.
"It's quite a thrill," Ruíz told the media afterward. "This is a top-notch league. A no-hitter against any team in the league is something special. I can't believe I did it."
To get his name logged in the Florida Complex League records, he stopped FCL Milwaukee cold and hitless, surrendering 1 walk and fanning 27 of the 28 batters he faced.
FCL Kansas City manager was in a jovial mode after the game, kidding with reporters that Ruíz "made managing easy today."
"I didn't have hardly any decisions to make like I usually do," he said. "I didn't even have to come up with a pinch hitter."
Up to now Ruíz has compiled an ERA of 0.72 with a 8-0 mark over 8 starts. He has 171 strikeouts in 62.2 innings and has held opponents to a .016 batting average.
