Reed Slams 5 Hits for GCL Clearwater (PHI1) Wednesday, June 29th, 2033 The GCL Clearwater (PHI1) Phillies East stopped the GCL Tampa (NYA2) Yankees West by a score of 11-3 at Bright House Field today, with the lion's share of the credit going to second baseman Ron Reed. The 22-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits. "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Reed said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard." Reed did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Yankees West. "Not much that I can say," offered GCL Tampa (NYA2) manager . "He just hammered the heck out of us."
