5-for-5 Game for Amaya Tuesday, July 24th , 2040 After a 5-hit effort to lead DSL Mexico City's 20-3 victory over the DSL Washington Nationals, first baseman Oliver Amaya told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day." "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the Dominican Summer League-level is really something special." The 24-year-old player earned his accolades today at Las Américas Complex with a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Nationals. "His swing is getting there," said Padres skipper , who spoke glowingly of Amaya after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Oliver did that to perfection today." Oliver Amaya walked in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, hit a three-run double in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off Jim Unknown in the 9th.
