Colonnese Smacks 3 Out of the Park Saturday, April 26th , 2042 The old superstition that "bad news comes in threes" certainly came true for the DSL Boston Red Sox today. DSL Pittsburgh right fielder Nicodemo Colonnese tripled up on the home runs to propel the Pirates to the 12-3 win at Pittsburgh Pirates Complex. "We had our chances to win the game, but we just didn't come through," DSL Boston manager said. "Colonnese hit the heck out of the ball." In addition to the homers, Colonnese collected 3 hits in 3 at-bats, 6 RBIs and scored 4 runs. "Easy swings get you home runs," he said after the game. "I kept telling myself not to press. They have to be nice and easy swings." Nicodemo Colonnese hit a solo-shot off Jesús Sánchez in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Noriaki Kimura in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Noriaki Kimura in the 6th and walked in the 8th. For the year Colonnese is batting .500 with 7 home runs, 14 RBIs and 11 runs scored. |
