Deleón Fans 16 Cubs 2 Friday, August 17th, 2029 Everything was working for Luis Deleón today at VSL Rays Complex. He had the perfect delivery. The ball was moving. The knuckle curve was working. In an unforgettable performance, the 24-year-old Deleón fanned 16 Cubs 2 and sparked the Tampa Bay (VSL) Rays to a 9-1 victory over Arizona League. He left Cubs 2 hitters mumbling and muttering at the plate. And when he needed a strikeout, he got it. "I don't know if there are many times that I've seen him throw better," said Tampa Bay (VSL) manager . "His location and command were really something." In addition to collecting 16 strikeouts over 7 innings, Deleón allowed 2 hits and 3 walks in a superlative outing. "I thought I'd make it easy on the guys today," Deleón said with a smile. So far this season, Deleón has a 6-2 won-lost record with no saves.
