In an unforgettable performance, the 27-year-old Diablos fanned 19 Mets and sparked the Los Angeles (N) Dodgers to a 10-4 victory over New York (N). He left Mets hitters mumbling and muttering at the plate. And when he needed a strikeout, he got it. "I don't know if there are many times that I've seen him throw better," said Los Angeles (N) manager Rob Banks. "His location and command were really something." In addition to collecting 19 strikeouts over 8 innings, Diablos allowed 4 hits and 1 walk in a superlative outing. "I thought I'd make it easy on the guys today," Diablos said with a smile.
