Cruz Rips Texas for 5 Hits
Tuesday, June 22nd, 2027
The Detroit Tigers stopped the Texas Rangers by a score of 9-2 at Globe Life Park in Arlington today, with the lion's share of the credit going to right fielder António Cruz. The 25-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Cruz said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Cruz did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Rangers.
"Not much that I can say," offered Texas manager . "He just hammered the heck out of us."
António Cruz hit a two-run double in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
This year Cruz has hit at a .271 clip with 33 RBIs, 2 home runs and 33 runs scored.
