García Magnificent in 4-0 Roma Triumph
|
Before the game, Orlando García said he liked his chances. His instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing at Olimpico Stadium, the Roma pitcher blanked the Lazio 4-0.
"I just had a feeling it was going to be my day," García said in the clubhouse afterward. "My control was awesome. I could throw my fastball even when I was behind in the count."
The Roma starter held Lazio scoreless, giving up 2 hits while registering 8 strikeouts and issuing 2 walks.
"We didn't have very many good at-bats," Lazio manager Joe NAT Woodring said in a postgame interview. "When that happens, you usually lose."
Up to now García has compiled an ERA of 4.12 with a 3-3 mark over 6 starts. He has 37 strikeouts in 39.1 innings and has held opponents to a .314 batting average.
