Cleveland Topples Seattle, 6-4
|
Seattle center fielder Kyle Lewis had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 6-4, to Cleveland at Progressive Field. Lewis was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Cleveland reliever Ryan Hagenow got the win, raising his record to 1-1. Brooks Wilson was tagged with the loss. Chris Buzzard closed the door for Cleveland, picking up his 12th save of the year.
Had Jose Tena not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Tena hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Guardians.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Tena told the Cleveland Daily.
At 17-25, the Guardians claim last place in the American League Central Division.
