Cleveland got a decent performance from pitcher Owen Proksch, but it wasn't enough to beat the Chicago White Sox. Chicago won the Guaranteed Rate Field contest, 6-1. Proksch threw 5.0 innings allowing 3 runs for the losing team. Chicago reliever Erik Rivera picked up the win to move to 1-0. Owen Proksch suffered the loss. Earning the save was David Bednar. He's now cashed in 12 of 15 save opportunities.

Chicago took a 6-1 lead on Willy Adames's 2nd home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Adames hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Cleveland pitcher Cody Morris visibly frustrated.

Adames called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."

At 54-57, the White Sox claim third place in the American League Central Division.
