New York Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit to 2-1
The New York Yankees have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Seattle Mariners, winning 6-3 at Yankee Stadium today. Yankees left-hander Bernardo Flores Jr. threw 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Yankees to 2-1 in the best-of-5 Division Series.

Brandon Crawford, the New York designated hitter, contributed a run-scoring double in the bottom of the fourth inning to make the score 1-0, Yankees. For the game, Crawford went 1-4 with a double.

"They say the first rule of the playoffs is to win the home games," Crawford said afterward. "It feels nice, but it is kind of what we were supposed to do."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Yankee Stadium in New York.
