Rangers Hand Phillies 6-3 Loss
|
Texas center fielder Jeremy Bergin contributed to his team's 6-3 win over the Philadelphia Phillies. Bergin, the 3rd overall pick in the 2026 draft, went 2 for 4 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Rangers. Luis Castillo was the winning pitcher. Over 7 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 10 hits, with no walks and 4 strikeouts. The Rangers go to 69-48, putting them second in the American League West Division.
The Rangers benefited from a costly error in the top of the fifth. With Evan Carter at bat and Texas leading 3-1, the Philadelphia miscue allowed Texas to plate 1 and take the lead, 4-1.
Bergin told a Texas Bulletin reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
