Cincinnati Gets 6-2 Win
|
The exploits of second baseman Jose Barrero helped the Cincinnati Reds defeat the Chicago Cubs, 6-2. Barrero went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Cincinnati raised its record to 82-68 with the win.
Cincinnati used the bat of Elly De La Cruz to get the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Reds ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," De La Cruz told the Cincinnati Times.
