Marlins Suffer 5-2 Loss to Washington
|
The Washington Nationals got a stellar effort from pitcher Shane McClanahan, helping Washington score a win over the visiting Miami Marlins, 5-2. Colby White closed the game out for Washington, earning his 38th save. The win gives Washington a season record of 87-72.
The Nationals had to work out of trouble in the top of the ninth. The score was 5-2, Washington, with one out. Miami, with runners on 1st and 3rd, was mounting a threat. Luis Mieses dug in at the plate, but on a 3-1 fastball, he popped out.
