Yankees Prevail, 3-1, Over Cleveland
|
The 3-1 New York win over Cleveland was due largely to Spencer Torkelson. The Yankees first baseman went 2-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. Taylor Rogers picked up the save, his 12th. At 16-9, the Yankees have played well so far.
The Yankees got a big at-bat from right fielder Aaron Judge. For the game, Judge was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave New York a 2-1 lead.
"We'll savor this win," Torkelson told the New York Times, "then get ready for the next game."
