Hits Galore: Barbier Drills 5 Hits Saturday, August 13th , 2016 It was a parade of hits for Brett Barbier of the St. Lucie Mets at Thomas J. White Stadium today. Connecting almost every time he went to the plate, Barbier finished the day with a total of 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His strong individual effort propelled the Mets to a 9-5 victory. "Barbier was really good and we were really bad," groaned Cubs manager . "Next time he's that hot, we'll just walk him." Brett Barbier singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Robert Dugger in the 4th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 8th. This year Barbier is batting .203 with 9 home runs. He has scored 23 runs and driven in 36. |
