Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Mavericks
The Mavericks grabbed a win, 4-2, at PacifiCorp Field, overcoming a fine effort from Green Bay pitcher Maggie Peña. Peña went 7 innings and allowed 1 run. Reliever Hollywood Maldonado picked up the win. His record improves to 11-3. José Velásquez took the loss. Craig Mays earned the save for Portland, his 1st of the year.

With one out in the bottom of the eighth, Bill Boswell put Portland in front, 3-2, with a run-scoring single. The Mavericks went on to win the ballgame.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Boswell. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."

The win puts the Mavericks at 55-61, while the Blizzard drop to 54-61.
