Apollos Deal Eagles 2-1 Loss
|
The Houston Apollos went home winners at Amazon Prime Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Alberto Árias. Árias stifled the Charlotte Eagles, enabling Houston to grab the 2-1 win. The win belonged to Liann-wei Chang in relief. His record improves to 5-8. Eppe van Wingerden took the loss for Charlotte. The win for the Apollos lifted their record to 61-59.
Jason Arizaga came through with a big-time hit for Houston. The pinch hitter smacked a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Good ballgame," said Charlotte manager Steve/Nate Beckman. "But we came up on the short end."
