VooDoo Turn Back Houston, 5-3
|
Júlio Hernández did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Houston Space Dragons from losing, 5-3, to the New Orleans VooDoo at Stance Stadium. Hernández went 3-3 with 3 doubles and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 3 runs. The winning pitcher was Kalle Hagman. He's now 9-5. He went 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits for the VooDoo. Freddy Delvalle, credited with the save, is now 6 for 7 in save opportunities.
The VooDoo got a big at-bat from third baseman Emerson Pinnock. For the game, Pinnock was 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave New Orleans a 3-0 lead.
"We did enough to win," said Pinnock.
The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the VooDoo.
