Getting an impressive start from Wayne Smith, Kingston beat San Juan by the score of 2-1. The victory gives Kingston a record of 85-73.
Jesús Contreras was the walk-off hero for Kingston. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Lions right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Not to put too fine a point on it," said Smith, "but we really needed that win."
