New Orleans designated hitter Álex Soto pounded New Mexico Suns pitchers at Ambetter Field, but it was not enough to keep the VooDoo from falling, 9-6 in Game 6 of the Divisional Cup. Soto hit 4 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored once four runs, though he couldn't prevent the VooDoo from slipping into a 3-3 tie in the best-of-7 series.

Phil Munroe drove in one run for New Mexico. In a tie game with one out in the bottom of the eighth, Munroe came through with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch. It put the Suns in front, 6-5.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Munroe.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ambetter Field in Albuquerque.
