Lions Squelch Giants Offense in Shutout Win
|
The Kingston Lions welcomed the New York Giants to an night game at Time Warner Field.
The Kingston Lions faced a tough opponent in New York pitcher Ekela Peniamina, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Time Warner Field by a final score of 4-0. Peniamina went 5 innings and allowed no runs. Matt Bowen, the winning pitcher, is now 5-7. He went 5.1 innings, allowing no runs on 6 hits, while fanning 4 and walking 2.
Kingston used the hitting of Les Cleeton to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Lions on top, 1-0. For the game, Cleeton had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
