FL Player of the Week Named Monday, September 7th , 2048 22-year-old António Martínez sent shock waves through Union League Baseball last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the Federal League Player of the Week Award. A newcomer to the league, Martínez made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .435 average, 10 hits in 23 at-bats, 6 home runs and 12 RBI. Where the Los Angeles Waves right fielder goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Martínez certainly made his mark last week. Martínez is presently batting .288 with 15 home runs, 25 runs scored and 35 RBIs. His OBP is .361. |
