Vets Stop Downey at 21 Tuesday, August 11th , 2048 Jerome Downey of the Hillsboro Hops came up empty at the plate today and went hitless in 4 at-bats for the first time in 21 games. Making matters even worse for the left fielder, Hillsboro dropped the game to the Helena Vets 11-1. "It was not a good day today," Downey told the press in postgame comments. "We lost the game and the streak is over." This year Downey is batting .314 with 113 hits, 2 home runs, 32 RBIs, 27 walks, .376 OBP and has scored 44 runs. |
