Assassins, Petry Blank Twin Cities, 7-0
|
A favor to his bullpen. That's what Dan Petry was doing at Ballpark of Knox City today as he blanked the Twin Cities Trappers in a 9-inning complete game shutout.
"I went out there to try to eat up innings and help out our bullpen," the Ottawa Assassins right-hander said later. "I felt I had my good stuff, and it turned out my command was solid."
Petry notched 6 strikeouts, surrendered 2 walks, allowed 8 hits, and kept the bullpen phone quiet all day long.
Checking out his stats for the year, Petry has racked up 5 wins and 1 loss in 9 starts, posted a 2.13 ERA, and struck out 35 batters in 67.2 innings.
