Tarheels Move on to College Divisional Round 2
|
Owen T. Carroll Field was the buzzing center of the baseball universe tonight, hosting the deciding game of the College Divisional Round 1.
The North Carolina Tarheels and Seton Hall Pirates had battled tooth and nail to arrive at the final game and in the end it was the Tarheels prevailing 2-0 to move on to the College Divisional Round 2.
"There's no feeling quite like winning a series in the final game," said an excited Alfredo Espinosa, who was named series MVP. "This was two great teams and it turned out to be a great series. It's good for the fans."
For the series, Espinosa had a 0.00 ERA over 8 innings pitched, with a 1-0 record.
The North Carolina Tarheels don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns - Florida Gators series. That series is tied at 1 game each. The College Divisional Round 2 schedule will be announced after the College Divisional Round 1 finishes.
