First-year players are drafted today in the The Virtual Baseball League while front offices buzz with anticipation and opinion from GM to receptionist. The initial picks go to Uranus, Toronto, Oklahoma City, Albuquerque and D.C. and the favorites to be selected, according to the BNN reports, are ranked as follows:
1. Walker Buehler, 20 year-old RHP out of college. 2. Hugh Knox, 20 year-old RHP out of college. 3. Noah Syndergaard, 20 year-old RHP out of college. 4. Jacob deGrom, 20 year-old RHP out of college. 5. Tuu Fueunati, 17 year-old RHP out of high-school. 6. Raśl Mateo, 17 year-old RHP out of high-school. 7. Jack Flaherty, 20 year-old RHP out of college. 8. Ed Ross, 20 year-old 2B out of college. 9. Doyle Lee, 20 year-old LHP out of college. 10. German Marquez, 20 year-old RHP out of college.

During the offseason, ballclubs have signed new players they hope will infuse their teams with that winning spark and inspiration that will lead them to the proverbial Promised Land. Now it is time to get ready on the field. Spring training is vital in getting the club fine-tuned for a months-long campaign. It's a time for GMs to forge the best players in their organizations, because the 2022 season will soon be coming to a ballpark near you.

Saint Louis Wins Lottery for 3B Nelson

Dave Nelson might be in the twilight of his career, but he is not going to leave the stage before the final act. Today the 37-year-old scribbled his signature on a $900,000-a-year deal with the Browns.
Some fans openly questioned the signing, saying they would prefer the club use its resources on younger talent.
His lifetime stats show that Nelson has hit .296 and connected for 242 home runs.
