Kosmonauts Stick Black Eagles with 4-1 Loss
|
Moscow starter Mitchell Murphy put a stranglehold on the Berlin offense. The right-hander had complete command of his cutter in leading the Kosmonauts to a 4-1 win. Geoffrey Joore collected his 26th save. Their 81-60 record puts the Kosmonauts second in the Western League Eastern Europe.
The Kosmonauts got a big at-bat from catcher Mu'awiyah Qutaiba. For the game, Qutaiba was 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 12th home run of the season gave Moscow a 2-0 lead.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Moscow manager Arjen MacDonald.
