Huracanes Win Again, Extend Series Lead to 3-0
|
The Punta Cana Huracanes are one game away from a sweep after slipping past the San Cristobal Tiburones, 2-1, in a low-scoring contest at Goya Grounds. Leading the way for the Huracanes was right-hander Angelo Rojas. He threw 7.1 innings allowing 1 run. Punta Cana now holds a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-7 Dominican Republic League Championship.
Punta Cana won the game in part because of Alex Falcon. The second baseman ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Huracanes ahead, 2-0. For the game, Falcon had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"Angelo was hitting his spots and everything had life," said Punta Cana manager Moises Castillo.
Game 4 is scheduled for Sunday at Royalton Resorts.
