Tokyo Wins at Home to Take 2-1 Lead in R2
|
With starter Alex Gonzales leading the charge, the Tokyo Swallows defeated the Santiago Tigres, 3-1, in Game 3 of the Semifinals today. The right-hander threw 5.0 innings allowing 1 runs at Jazz Stadium to help Tokyo take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-3 series.
Edgar Casas dealt the Tigres a blow in the bottom of the fifth. Batting with a runner on 2nd and Tokyo leading 2-1, Casas, who finished 5th in the NPL in doubles with 37 in 2053, hit a 2-1 splitter for a run-scoring double.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Casas told the Tokyo Times.
