League Punishes Pair for Fighting
Tuesday, August 5th , 2053
If there wasn't a history between Enrique Roman of Monte Cristi and Tony Gonzalez of Bonao, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 5 and 6 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today.
"We're both really competitive," Roman said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it."
This season Roman is batting at a .220 clip with 3 home runs and 20 RBIs.
On the season Gonzalez has compiled a 0-4 mark with a 7.34 ERA in 10 starts. In pitching 38 innings he has 25 strikeouts and 16 walks while limiting the opposition to a .353 batting average.
