The Texas Rangers got their 2024 season off and running with a win over the Minnesota Twins at Globe Life Park in Arlington. The final score was 7-3. Texas pitcher Corbin Burnes, in particular, had a fine performance. Burnes got the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 8 hits and walked 1 over 6.1 innings. Burnes allowed 3 runs.

Adley Rutschman had a big 2-run double for the Rangers in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Texas leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from Edward Cabrera and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rangers ahead, 4-1.

"I still think this team can play even better," Rutschman told the Texas News.
