Rockies Need Extra Frames to Get Past Rangers
The Texas Rangers got a sterling performance from pitcher Casey Mize, but the Colorado Rockies still prevailed, 3-2. Mize threw 5.2 innings allowing 2 runs. Colorado reliever Justin Martinez was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Pete Fairbanks. Colorado goes to 16-17, Texas to 19-14.

The knockout blow came in the bottom of the tenth inning. That's when third baseman Brendan Donovan stepped to the plate with a runner on 2nd and hit a run-scoring single, to win the ballgame.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Donovan. "And not try to do too much."
