Giants Deal Yankees 7-4 Loss
|
The San Francisco Giants knocked off the New York Yankees, 7-4, at Yankee Stadium. Jose Altuve was a big reason San Francisco won. The designated hitter was 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Brandon Woodruff, the winner, goes to 9-1. He allowed 4 runs on 7 hits, with 3 walks and 6 strikeouts over 5 innings. Josh Hader sewed up the save, his 15th.
Francisco Lindor, the 29-year old shortstop , had a direct impact on the outcome. Lindor contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the first inning to put San Francisco up, 2-0.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Altuve.
The Giants sport a record of 34-17.
