Great Stroke: Amador Gets 5 Hits Thursday, February 3rd , 2022 Philadelphia (RDL) shortstop Adael Amador went down swinging at Scottsdale Stadium today, knocking out 5 hits even as his Phillies fell, 10-9. "It was like I was hitting Little League pitching," Amador said after his 5-for-6 performance against the Houston (RDL) Astros. "No offense meant to Houston (RDL), but it was like I was back in little league again -- I could see the ball that well." After the game, his manager elaborated on the shortstop's improvements, saying Amador spent the offseason trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball. "That's what I'm trying to do," Amador agreed. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it." Adael Amador grounded out in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Joe Lienhard in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
