Devers, Stashak Swap Clubs

In an effort to add some depth to its roster, the Atlanta Braves have swapped 24-year old minor league LHP Patrick Wicklander and 21-year old minor league 2B Jose Devers to the Miami Marlins for 30-year old RHP Cody Stashak. The Braves GM told reporters, "We saw a chance to upgrade our ball club and took it."
To date he has nailed down 1 saves for his club. In 6 relief appearances, Stashak has 5 strikeouts in 7.2 innings with a 1.17 ERA and a 1-1 mark.

Done Deal: Miller for Soto
Wednesday, June 5th , 2024
In a move that has fans in both cities buzzing, the Boston Red Sox and the Pittsburgh Pirates have agreed to a deal that will have 25-year old minor league 2B Jake MacKenzie and 27-year old minor league 2B Owen Miller heading to Pittsburgh in exchange for 29-year old LHP Gregory Soto. Provided they pass a physical, the players should be with their respective teams in time for tomorrow's games.
Soto's record this season is 1-and-2 with no saves and a 4.29 ERA. He has given up 32 hits in 35.2 innings with 37 strikeouts.

Crawford and Detmers Fight, Get Suspended

If there wasn't a history between Brandon Crawford of Cincinnati and Reid Detmers of Washington, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 4 and 6 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today.
"We're both really competitive," Crawford said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it."
Crawford is presently batting .154 with 2 home runs, 5 runs scored and 6 RBIs. His OBP is .250.
This season Detmers has a 1-2 record with a 5.47 ERA.
