Rangers-Astros Trade: Alvarez for Alvarez Saturday, July 15th , 2023 Newspapers in Texas and Houston reported that the Rangers have reached a deal sending 21-year old minor league C Francisco Alvarez, 23-year old minor league LF Spencer Torkelson, 23-year old minor league RHP Luis Patiño, 28-year old RHP Joe Jimenez, 23-year old minor league RHP Mat Olsen, and $3,000,000 in cash to the Astros for 26-year old 1B Yordan Alvarez, 29-year old minor league RHP Chris Flexen, and 30-year old RHP Archie Bradley. Houston will retain a portion of Flexen's remaining contract. This season Alvarez is swinging the bat at a .292 rate with 92 hits in 315 at-bats. To date he has hit 21 home runs, scored 50 runs and driven in 73. |
