July's Premier Rookie Named by AL Tuesday, August 1st , 2023 Diego Rincones is still a bit shy, but then, who could blame the newest American League Rookie of the Month honoree? He hasn't been around the league long enough to fully know the ropes yet, despite the fact that he's putting up veteran-like numbers. In July the Houston hitter tagged opposing pitching for a .377 average with 29 hits, 9 home runs and 26 RBIs. Hitting .354 to date, Rincones has 12 home runs and 38 RBIs. He has played in 29 games. |
