Yankees Topple Red Sox, 7-1, as Guillen Shines
Riding the 4-hit performance of the top prospect Carlos Guillen, the New York Yankees stopped the Boston Red Sox, 7-1, in 9 innings. The first-place Yankees have their sights set on making a deep playoff run.

Ramon Hernandez had a big 2-run double for the Yankees in the bottom of the sixth inning. With New York leading 2-1 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a curveball from 24-year old left-handed pitcher Glendon Rusch and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 26th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Yankees ahead, 4-1.

"This was a nice win for us," said Guillen. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
