The San Diego Padres locked up a win at San Diego Stadium 1969, knocking off the Milwaukee Brewers, 7-2. On the mound for San Diego was right-hander Jorge Martinez. He played a major role in the triumph. The National League West Division-leading Padres are 79-53.

The Padres got a big at-bat from left fielder Preston Wilson. For the game, Wilson was 1-3 with a double. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 36th double of the season gave San Diego a 3-2 lead.

"I'm happy we won," said Martinez. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
