Enrriquez goes 3-for-3 to Power Padres Offense
|
The performance of Carlos Enrriquez proved critical in helping San Diego beat Pittsburgh, 7-2. The Padres shortstop was 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 5. San Diego is 81-56 and Pittsburgh, with the loss, 82-55.
With San Diego leading 2-0 in the bottom of the second, Enrriquez came up to bat against Pittsburgh pitcher Raul Palma. Enrriquez hit a cutter to center for a 2-run double. His 30th double of the season put the Padres on top, 4-0.
"We didn't play well enough to win," said Pittsburgh skipper Alan Hounsell.
