Orioles 9-6 Losers to Red Sox
|
Though he had a terrific game, Derrick Gibson could not prevent his team, the Baltimore Orioles, from absorbing a loss. Boston won the game, 9-6. Gibson went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Tim Grieve recorded the save, his 20th. Boston, at 86-68, sits in second place in the American League East Division.
Derek Bell cracked a home run off Livan Hernandez in the bottom of the fourth. His 2-run blast put the Red Sox on top, 4-2. In all, Bell had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"Enjoyed this one," Bell told the Boston Citizen. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
