Kansas City Bats Go Silent in 2-0 Loss
|
In a tight tilt between the Chicago White Sox and the Kansas City Royals, Jeff Bawlson was the deciding factor. The Chicago left-hander spearheaded the 2-0 win. In 7 innings, Bawlson surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 3. He allowed no runs. Chicago, now 66-90, holds down 4th place in the American League Central Division.
Michael Young went 1 for 4 for Chicago. The 24-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring single off Tom Glavine. It was his 182nd hit of the season.
"Main thing is I want the team to win," Bawlson told a reporter after the game. "Just have to go out there, take care of my job, and give my team a chance to win."
