In a tight tilt between the Anaheim Angels and the Texas Rangers, Cristobal Rodriguez was the deciding factor. The Anaheim right-hander spearheaded the 1-0 win. Rodriguez, now 5-13, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 10 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing no runs. The second-place Angels have a record of 74-86.

A crucial at-bat came with the bases empty and no one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when catcher Jorge Posada, who is a three-time All-Star, hit a double. The Angels went on to win.
