The exploits of center fielder Edgard Clemente helped the Tampa Bay Devil Rays defeat the Toronto Blue Jays, 6-1. Clemente was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times. Carlos Crawford earned the win to go to 6-7. He allowed no runs on 5 hits, with 5 walks and 1 strikeout in 5.2 innings of work. Tampa Bay bumps their record to 28-45 with the win.

Luis Leanos had a big 2-run double for the Devil Rays in the bottom of the second inning. With Tampa Bay leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a slider from 30-year old right-handed pitcher Rod Beck and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 18th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Devil Rays ahead, 4-0.
